Hockey finally made its return to Nassau Coliseum last night as the New York Islanders defeated the Nashville Predators 6-4 in front of 9,338 fans.

Some will be happy with the changes, others clearly will not. But, at the end of the day, the league feels the game will be better off for it and that is what matters the most.

New York Islanders game day at Nassau Coliseum is finally here and we hope you can contain your excitement at work today. (We’re only half-kidding about the “containing yourself” part.) Yes, there will be NHL hockey played at the Coliseum tonight, and even though it’s only a preseason contest between the Isles and Nashville Predators, it’s still Islanders hockey in Uniondale, which is never not a good thing.
