New York Islanders Costly Mistake Will Be Ryan Pulock

Islanders Insight's picture

The New York Islanders reason for not making the playoffs is simple; Ryan Pulock. Barring a miracle, the Islanders will miss the playoffs by just a couple of points. A better powerplay could have saved this team, right? I know that I went over this earlier in the season as to bringing Pulock up to […]

New York Islanders First-Round Pick Should be in Play

Islanders Insight's picture

There have been very few positives for the New York Islanders this season. One of them, however, is they will have a really good draft pick come this June. But the Isles first-round pick should be in play this off-season to pull off a major trade. It looks like the New York Islanders will finish […]

New York Islanders Daily: Thomas Hickey Keeps Playoff Chances Alive

Islanders Insight's picture

Thomas Hickey kept the New York Islanders playoff hopes alive with his overtime winner in Nashville. An odd night for Hickey and the Isles. Of course, Thomas Hickey would score the game winner for the New York Islanders. Sure, part of the reason is because he has earned that “Mr. Overtime” nickname from clutch scoring, […]

Islanders Get Value From Thomas Hickey at Forward

Islanders Insight's picture

New York Islanders made the unconventional look pretty good tonight as converted defenseman Thomas Hickey keeps the Isles in the hunt. It was a funny move, with a short bench at forward, the New York Islanders placed Thomas Hickey up on the second line alongside Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey. Everyone had a chuckle. This […]

New York Islanders Second Line Winger Thomas Hickey

Islanders Insight's picture

Fans always give the coach a run when lineups come out, but in today’s New York Islanders lineup a defenseman has made the leap to forward. No joke. Hours before the game against the Predators the New York Islanders official account tweeted out the lines for the game. And no joke, Thomas Hickey was named […]

New York Islanders Won’t Get Cooperation in Playoff Hunt

Islanders Insight's picture

The New York Islanders playoff hopes are still alive, however barely, and they travel to Nashville in hopes to keep them alive a little bit longer. Hopefully, Nashville cooperates. Nashville is already in and the New York Islanders need every game just to stave off elimination. The Isles have everything to play for and the […]

New York Islanders Playoff Secret Weapon is Halak

Islanders Insight's picture

If the New York Islanders are going to make the playoffs they’re going to face the Washington Capitals. Thankfully they have a secret weapon in the blue paint. It’s been a tough year for New York Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak. He’s had a down year statistically with a .909 SV% and a 3.03 GAA in […]

New York Islanders Daily: Anders Lee’s Impressive Turnaround

Anders Lee got off to an embarrassingly slow start for the New York Islanders this year. But he’s parlayed that slow start into an impressive 30 goal season. With two more goals against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday Anders Lee secured his first 30 goal season of his NHL career. Although it didn’t seem like […]

New York Islanders John Tavares Injury Won’t Hurt

Islanders Insight's picture

Any injury to John Tavares is usually gut-wrenching in every sense of the word for New York Islanders fans. But the captain’s latest injury isn’t as dreadful. John Tavares is listed as week-to-week with a hamstring issue meaning he won’t play in any of the remaining regular season games. But is it really that bad? […]

New York Islanders Calling Up Connor Jones Makes No Sense

Islanders Insight's picture

Islanders: Coliseum Has Reopened Forget Moving In

Islanders Insight's picture

After a nice face-lift the Islanders former home, Nassau Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum is open for business. Isles aren’t going, though. Sorry. The $165 million much-needed facelift, both on the outside and inside, for the Islanders previous digs is now complete. It looks great. But it does nothing to change the Islanders minds about moving back. […]

The Islanders were battling all night. They had chance after chance to put the game away, and Keith Kincaid stood tall, keeping it close. Even through nine power plays, two plus five-on-threes (the plus comes because they didn’t really try much on the third), the Isles could not blow the game open.

New York Islanders Off Season Action Plan

Islanders Insight's picture

The New York Islanders season is on life support. It’s going to take a mini-miracle for the Islanders to get into the post-season. A bad start and inconsistent play doomed them. This off-season it’s time for the organization to make major moves. Here is my off-season action plan. Since the beginning of last summer, the […]
