Islanders Insights Top Shelf: Opportunity Awaits

The New York Islanders play their next six out of seven games in Brooklyn, with a trip to Ottawa thrown in the mix. Tonight they will matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets and, despite the “any team can win on any given night in this league” line running through Islander fans’ heads, this appears to be an opportunity to get back on track.

Arthur Staple of Newsday had this to say yesterday:

The starter will be announced later today, but it would be safe to think Jaroslav Halak gets the nod, and hopefully gets to shake off the rust he’s shown over the last couple of games before taking on the Rangers Thursday.
