Will you be wearing a tuxedo tonight? (Does anyone really do that? Maybe I hang in the wrong income bracket. Checks pay stub. Yeah, definitely.) The Adirondack Phantoms host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Glens Falls this afternoon for a New Year's Eve tilt, and the Phantoms are pulling out some of the stops. I have to say that -- hanging in the locker room at least -- these tuxedo jerseys look better than I expected. We'll see about how they look while actually on. (Ooh, admire the subtle pinstripe.) Of all the minor league gimmick jerseys though, I imagine these would be among the hardest to take seriously: Afternoon game, on a festive holiday, with guys decked out in the equivalent of a tuxedo t-shirt? Does that really move one to risk broken bones and lost teeth and such? So watch there be a fight early on, just to make the attire look mean. Phantoms NotesThe Phantoms are without a captain but are looking for a new one to replace the injured Ben Holmstrom. They're coming off a couple of close losses to Providence and Portland, the latter of which saw them misfire on eight powerplays. They're also trying to cut down on their penalties. As a reminder, the key guys are non-lockout Flyers Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn. The Phantoms are still last in the East, but they've beaten Bridgeport in both meetings this season, most recently 3-2 in Bridgeport nine days ago. Audio: Phantoms feed here, AHL Live here.
