Game 69:Isles at Bruins

Today, the Isles took on the Bruins in Boston for a 1pm game. After a slow start and after being dug into a 2-0 hole, the Isles tried to claw their ways out but in the end one goal just wasn't enough to pull past the Eastern leaders.

Plus, the good thing is that the Isles weren't mauled by bears.

The first period, scratch that, the first five minutes were lame. Within the opening minutes of the game, the Bruins managed to net the puck twice within the time span of a minute and change. Early on you wanted to batten down the hatches and call it to jump start your Saturday night on a positive note. A pair of wrist shots from Phil Kessel and Marc Savard beat Yann Danis to begin an Isles slow start.

The second period was better. As soon as Bruno Gervais (who's been playing much better as of late) was called for a penalty but Boston was called out for being too much man. So, on the 4-on-4, Mark Streit dazzles us all when he cut through the Bruins zone like Brian Boitano, stunned Zdeno Chara, and scored it top shelf against Tim Tomas.

And after many chances and a good effort, the Isles failed to tie it up for the rest of the game.

All in all, the Isles played really hard against the big Bruins. Their recent play has really showed us fans that they are ready for the future. Things are working, clicking, youth is good, and all that jazz. It's exciting, isn't it?

Tomorrow the Isles take on the Hawks in Chicago.

Go Isles.
