New York Islanders v Florida Panthers

The New York Islanders will look to get back on a winning track tonight when they host the Florida Panthers at the Barclays Center.

The Islanders are coming off a tough Saturday afternoon loss against the Boston Bruins. Thomas Greiss allowed three goals in the loss, but John Tavares’s 200th career goal was the lone bright spot in the defeat.

The third place Islanders continue to keep one eye on second place in the Metropolitan Division and one eye on their playoff lives in the Eastern Conference. The Islanders (82 points) are three points behind the second place New York Rangers (85 points) and six points ahead of the ninth place Philadelphia Flyers (76 points).

There was some promising news reported related to injured defenseman Calvin de Haan this weekend. According to Newsday, league sources have indicated that de Haan, who was initially injured during the Isles’ 4-1 win over the Red Wings on Feb. 15 and then suffered a similar injury in a 4-3 overtime win in Winnipeg on March 3, could get back into the Isles lineup tonight against the Panthers or tomorrow night in Pittsburgh.

We’ll update you when lineups are announced later today.
