The New York Islanders fell to the Boston Bruins yesterday afternoon 3-1. It was the Isles second loss in a row, something the Islanders have not done since early February. The lone goal for the Islanders came from the captain, John Tavares, which was the 200th goal of his career.

The unfortunate two game skid the Islanders find themselves in is not timed well as the schedule is only going to get tougher. The Islanders have a four game week ahead of them where they will face the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators, and Dallas Stars; four consecutive playoff contenders at a time when the standings have never been closer and the points have never been more valuable.

The Islanders must regroup and find their game as they did on their previous successful 6-1 road trip. Battered and bruised, the Islanders still have what it takes to win games minus key players Jaroslav Halak and Calvin de Haan. With the New York Rangers not too far ahead in the standings, the Penguins not so far behind, and the Philadelphia Flyers pushing for the playoffs, the Islanders must get back to the type of hockey they played against the Penguins last Tuesday in their 2-1 victory.

Three of the Islanders four games are on the road next week after the Panthers visit Brooklyn on Tuesday.
