Edmonton Oilers defenceman Andy Sutton has agreed to a new one-year contract for reportedly between $1.5 million and $1.75 million US a season that takes the unrestricted free agent out of the picture on NHL trade deadline day. Sutton, who came to the Oilers last July 1 from the Anaheim Ducks in a trade for Kurtis Foster, would have been a solid depth pickup on Feb. 27 for a Stanley Cup contender.
